Equity scholarships
The Melbourne Scholarships Program offers the following equity scholarships for local students (Australian and New Zealand citizens and Australian permanent residents) undertaking postgraduate studies:
Fay Marles Scholarship (FMS)
The Fay Marles Scholarships provide support for students of Indigeous Australian descent, students whose academic career has been adversely affected and students with disabilities. The FMS is available to students undertaking a postgraduate diploma, masters by coursework, doctorate by coursework or research higher degree at the University of Melbourne.
Harbison-Higinbotham Research Scholarship
The Harbison-Higinbotham Research Scholarship is available for research higher degree students undertaking studies in the following areas: history, sociology, economics/commerce, politics, government or administration.
Frederick Blake Shepherd Scholarship
The Frederick Blake Shepherd Scholarship is available for research higher degree students, with preference given to disadvantaged students.
Eleanor and Joseph Wertheim Scholarship
The Eleanor and Joseph Wertheim Scholarship is available for graduate research higher degree and graduate coursework students. The scholarship aims to assist unmarried female students over the age of twenty-five, enrolled full-time at the University of Melbourne, who are in difficult circumstances.
