Closing dates and selection timelines for international applicants
The table below shows the key dates that relate to the award of the following scholarships: IPRS, MIFRS, MIRS and HRS*.
Application closing dates for international students are shown in red.
IPRS, MIFRS and MIRS applicants may view the status of their application on SCHOLS 4 weeks after receiving an unconditional letter of offer for admission to the University of Melbourne.
Timeline for local scholarship applications (eg APA, MRS).

| 31 August | IPRS closing date International Admissions applications received after this date will only be considered for any MIFRSs and MIRSs that remain at the time the application is assessed#. |
| Late October | First of three rounds of IPRS offers |
| 31 October |
HRS application form and all documents must be submitted by this date. |
| October/November/December | Academic departments assess the IPRS, MIFRS and MIRS applications. |
| Early November | Graduate Research Scholarships Committee assess eligible IPRS, MIFRS and MIRS applications. |
| End of November | Second of three rounds of IPRS offers |
| Early December | Graduate Research Scholarships Committee assess newly eligible IPRS, MIFRS and MIRS applications. |
| Mid December | Third and usually final round of IPRS offers. Students currently enrolled in an honours or other course are considered in this round. |
| Late December onwards | Initial MIRS and MIFRS offer letters are sent. Letters sent to unsuccessful IPRS, MIFRS and MIRS applicants and applicants on a waiting list for scholarship. |
| 8 January (approx) | Date by which international students applying for the HRS must have an unconditional course offer. Successful and unsuccessful HRS applicants will be notified by letter in late January. |
| January onwards | MIRS and MIFRS offers continue to be made as advice is received from the faculties. |
| May |
Majority of applicants on the scholarship waiting list will be notified of their success or otherwise from the end of April. |

# The assessment of applications received after 31 October may take between 4-8 weeks depending when the application is received. Applicants will be notified of the outcome as soon as possible.
