Local applicants: how to accept a scholarship offer
If we are able to offer a scholarship to you, we will send a scholarship offer letter to you. The scholarship offer letter will clearly set out:
-
how to accept or decline the scholarship;
- the date by which the scholarship must be accepted. If you do not respond by the due date the scholarship offer will lapse.
To accept your scholarship offer please complete the following steps:
- Carefully read the conditions that apply to your scholarship. Note that any periods of study already undertaken toward the course for which this scholarship has been awarded will be deducted from the tenure of the scholarship. By accepting a scholarship offer, you are agreeing to abide by the relevant terms and conditions.
- Complete and return the Accept/Decline Form to the Graduate Research Scholarships Team, Melbourne Scholarships Office (MSO) by the due date stated in the scholarship offer letter. If a response is not received by the due date the scholarship offer will lapse.
- If you have not already done so, you should submit a course application to the Melbourne School of Graduate Research (for the PhD, MPhil and the Melbourne Graduate School of Science masters by research courses i.e. MSc, MIS, MOptom) or the relevant faculty/graduate school office (all other courses). For local applicants, scholarship and course applications and offers are separate.
If you will be absent from your contact address at the time the scholarship offer will be made, it is your responsibility to arrange for a proxy to respond to the offer on your behalf.
If you later decide to decline a scholarship you have accepted, please immediately notify the MSO of this decision. This will enable us to award the scholarship to another applicant.
