Frederick Blake Shepherd Scholarship
The Frederick Blake Shepherd Scholarship is available to candidates undertaking graduate research degree studies with preference given to disadvantaged candidates.
Number
The Frederick Blake Shepherd Scholarship is awarded as funds permit. It will be next awarded in late 2008 for commencement in 2009.
Benefits and conditions
- A living allowance (ie. stipend) of $19,425 per annum full-time (2008 Melbourne Research Scholarship [MRS] rate) or $10,370 per annum part-time (2008 MRS rate), and
- Other benefits as listed for the MRS.
The conditions are the same as for the Fay Marles Scholarship (FMS).
Eligibility criteria
The eligibility criteria are the same as for the Fay Marles Scholarship (FMS).
Selection criteria
Selection of the FBS is primarily based on three main criteria: personal circumstance, academic merit, and strength of the supporting documents.
Application process
The application process is the same as for the Fay Marles Scholarship (FMS).
Closing date and timelines
Applicants must complete and submit to the Graduate Research Scholarship Office by October 31 (or the next working day if the 31st falls on a weekend) an application for graduate scholarship. Applicants who indicate on their scholarship application that they wish to be considered for an FMS and who have provided all of the required documents by the closing date will automatically be considered for the Frederick Blake Shepherd Scholarship.
