How to check the status of IPRS, MIRS, MIFRS and HRS applications
Applicants for the following scholarships for study at the University of Melbourne should monitor the status of their application using SCHOLS, the online application service.
- Endeavour International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS)
- Melbourne International Fee Remission Scholarship (MIFRS)
- Melbourne International Research Scholarship (MIRS)
- Human Rights Scholarship (HRS)
IPRS, MIFRS and MIRS
Applicants who have received from International Admissions an unconditional offer of a place in a graduate research degree will:
- be considered for an IPRS, MIFRS and MIRS (where other eligibility criteria have been met) and
- receive via email a Username and Password for SCHOLS three weeks after International Admissions has sent the unconditional course offer.
If you have an unconditional offer of a place in a graduate research degree and have not yet received a SCHOLS Username and Password, before contacting us, please check the following:
- Was your course offer letter sent at least 3 weeks ago?
- Is your course offer for Semester 1 or 2 in the year for which you would like to be considered for scholarship? Please contact International Admissions if you need to defer your offer of a place.
- Is your offer for a graduate research degree? Applicants who have been offered a place in a masters by coursework, postgraduate diploma, or doctorate by coursework cannot be considered for the IPRS, MIFRS or MIRS.
- Is your course offer unconditional (i.e. you are not required to provide any other documents, demonstrate that you meet the University's english language requirements, etc)?
If you have answered yes to all four questions and have not received your SCHOLS Username and Password please contact us (email: ianws@unimelb.edu.au). Please include in your email your Application Number (this is stated in the correspondence you have received from International Admissions). We will respond to your request within 2 working days.
HRS
The Graduate Research Scholarships Team will email to HRS applicants a SCHOLS Username and Password about three weeks after they have received an unconditional course offer from International Admissions. The HRSs are awarded in late January and all applicants will receive a letter to advise them of their success or otherwise.
